Firemen from Callan Fire Brigade called into third class this week and spoke to them about safety in the home and in school. The key message was knowing what to do if there’s a fire. The message is clear, Get out, Stay out and dial 112. They spoke about charging appliances and how long on average they should be charged. The pupils were very engaged and listened very intently to the excellent advice given. One other suggestion was to check your alarms every week and replace the batteries on your birthday. This initiative by the Fire service is so important and we look forward to their visit again next year. The pupils received beautiful booklets from the Fire Service to complete.
