Representatives from Kilkenny West Water Group Scheme visited Scoil San Nioclás last week and the pupils from 3rd,4th and 5th Class were presented with a very interesting and informative slideshow on water preservation and ways to prevent water pollution. They were told of the water schemes in and around their locality and local representative Mary Molloy gave them a history of where water was drawn from back in the day. She spoke about water being drawn from Feehans Well to the old pumps like the one in Butlerswood to the more modern pumphouses. The pupils have been invited to design a logo for the West Kilkenny Water Group Scheme along with four other schools. We will upload the winning entries in September.
