Liz Jackson’s visit to Uganda
Liz Jackson, a past pupil of Scoil San Nioclás, was a guest at our school assembly last week. Liz gave an excellent presentation on her visit to Uganda with a UK dental charity. Liz showed the pupils, photos of the vital work done by herself and other members of the dental charity. She spoke about the work they did each day in different townships and schools. Liz and her colleagues performed extractions and fillings and also showed the children how to look after their teeth. She said that even though the townships were quite poor they received such a warm welcome wherever they went. They were greeted with songs and dancing and local food. Liz thanked the pupils of Scoil San Nioclás for the money raised on ‘No Uniform’ day. Liz hopes to go back again next year.
