Special Class Placement 2026 - Parents who are considering a special class placement for their child from September 2026 that they must apply to the Special Educational Needs Organiser (SENO) for an eligibility letter in line with Circular 39/2025. Please note:
An eligibility letter from the NCSE is a mandatory requirement for enrolment in a special class.
Applications to the SENO must be submitted no later than October 1st, 2025.
Without this letter, children cannot be considered for placement in a special class.

The Senior classes went on a local history tour last week with local historians Pat O’Gorman and Jimmy Walsh. The pupils were welcomed to Knockroe first of all and were given a very informative history of this special place. They were allowed to walk around and explore the site and appreciate the amazing stones and their historical significance. We then moved onto the Slate Quarries and once again the two local historians regaled the pupils with facts and stories of life in the slate quarries long ago. It was such a treat for the pupils showing them how much history is on their doorstep.
