Special Class Placement 2026 - Parents who are considering a special class placement for their child from September 2026 that they must apply to the Special Educational Needs Organiser (SENO) for an eligibility letter in line with Circular 39/2025. Please note:
An eligibility letter from the NCSE is a mandatory requirement for enrolment in a special class.
Applications to the SENO must be submitted no later than October 1st, 2025.
Without this letter, children cannot be considered for placement in a special class.

The staff and pupils of Scoil San Nioclás have said a very emotional farewell to Mrs Lowry. Mrs Lowry has been our principal here at Scoil San Nioclás for 14 years and joined the staff as a teacher 29 years ago. She has help mould the school into what it is today and her presence and legacy will be felt in every classroom and by staff and pupils for years to come. The Board of Management, staff, pupils and parents will be forever grateful for all the accomplishments Mrs Lowry has led to make the school into a leading light in Music, Sport and STEM while promoting the wellbeing of every pupil that has attended school here. The staff, pupils and parents have commemorated Mrs Lowry’s time as principal of Scoil San Nioclás by planting a tree in our school garden. Allen Smyth, Garrett Power and Linda Smyth attended the presentation on behalf of the Parents Association. Go neiri an tadh leat!
