Special Class Placement 2026 - Parents who are considering a special class placement for their child from September 2026 that they must apply to the Special Educational Needs Organiser (SENO) for an eligibility letter in line with Circular 39/2025. Please note:
An eligibility letter from the NCSE is a mandatory requirement for enrolment in a special class.
Applications to the SENO must be submitted no later than October 1st, 2025.
Without this letter, children cannot be considered for placement in a special class.

The National “Scratch” coding competition took place in the University of Limerick on May 21st and Scoil San Nioclás had a representative in the all Ireland final. Thomas Miller’s project ‘Space Invaders 2.0’ was selected out of 700 participants to be part of 30 in the final in UL. Thomas prepared a presentation for the judges on Wednesday and they were very impressed both with the project and with the presentation. Thomas won the judges award in the 5th/6th Class Category of the competition. It was the first time Scoil San Nioclás has entered the competition, and Thomas’ success will no doubt inspire other pupils to compete next year. Congratulations Thomas.
